Charge nurse and relief Department Head in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit caring for patients recovering from general anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, blocks and local anesthesia. Maintained 100% on crash cart drills, and code drills for the unit, coordinate medication orientation of all corpsman, orient nurses new to the unit, orient nurses to charge duties, assign and maintain corpsman monthly evaluations, and chart and review patient numbers and workload management. Department Safety and Hazardous Materials Officer maintaining 100% staff education and monthly updates. Participated in development and trial of new PACU flow sheets for the military, also responsible for developing new patient profiles and MAR for our unit when new standard doctor order sheets were implemented. Assisted in the development and implementation of PE&I tools for our unit.
