During her time as a summer design intern at Bjork Studio, Tanvi focused on creating detailed technical drawings of furniture to be manufactured based on clients’ specifications and industry/company standards. During her internship, she was able to quickly learn basics of furniture design and adapt her understanding of mechanical engineering and industrial design to apply to the field. She was always willing to be flexible in her approach and patient with multiple revisions and changes based on client requests. Tanvi is a pleasure to work with, and a very intelligent and capable person.

This past summer, I had the opportunity to supervise Tanvi in her role as Splash's Design Engineering Intern. In all of the projects that Tanvi worked on, she proved to be a self-starter with creative insights to our design challenges. She was an active and valuable contributor in all of Splash’s design meetings. Her work was largely focused on user testing, component selection, and defining the manufacturing Bill of Materials and post-production assembly processes. She delivered high quality work on each of these. Tanvi's most valuable contribution to Splash was during in-person meetings with our Indian manufacturer. She drew from her prior experience working in Indian manufacturing, and she was able to ask detailed and revealing questions of our potential partner. Splash was able to learn much more than we would have had she not been there. Her communication skills saved us a lot of time and prevented difficult back and forth conversations with the manufacturer. Tanvi’s work with Splash has led to a much faster delivery of better designed and, ultimately, more cost-effective stations. I would highly recommend her for her design skills, understanding of users, and communication abilities.
