Design Engineer
-
Oct 2016 - Sep 2022
Working under Rob Grosz (President, PE), and Hugo Escobedo (PE) has proven to be a tremendous opportunity for my engineering knowledge, and has allowed my abilities to flourish. CEG continues to support me in my ambitions to learn and grow a deeper knowledge of the industry. As Design Engineer I have been tasked with preparing reports, precast/ prestressed product designs, and checking shop ticket and erection drawings (via AutoCAD, REVIT, and SolidWorks). I am also currently responsible for performing design calculations for various precast/ prestressed structural member designs to withstand different load cases and stresses. Determining the appropriate construction materials to be used during production. I have also been able to develop a keen understanding of codes and standards such as: IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, etc.In addition to design, I manage the day-to-day coordination efforts and schedules between clients and my internal team of drafters, modelers, and engineers. Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors for successful procurement key project information. Interpret contract documents and shop drawings for the accurate coordination between team engineers and drafters/ modelers. Plus I regularly lead coordination meetings internally and externally to facilitate assurance that project deadlines are being met. Show less

Project Manager/ Design Engineer
-
Oct 2016 - Aug 2022
In my time alongside Rob Grosz (President, PE) and Hugo Escobedo (VP, PE) I have been able to grow my experience and develop my skills enough to have been entrusted with the responsibilities of a Co-Project Manager to begin, which then developed into Production Manager, then finally Project Manager. Some of said responsibilities include leading a team of drafters, modelers, and engineers through to completion and submittal of design calculations and construction drawings. I am also responsible for managing staff to ensure quality of production drawings and material requisitions are provided to the client so that construction of the building is initiated and completed according to schedule. Additionally, I track incoming and outgoing documentation so that a project's team is on the same page about scope, what resources are available, and that expectations on deliverables are being met. Alongside client managers we develop bids for new projects, additional work orders, and assure projects are sticking to budget. Not only do I provide design assist to my internal team, but I also represent our clients as the precast expert within coordination meetings to general contractors, architects, and other subs. Mechanical Engineering Intern
-
May 2013 - Sep 2013
As an intern at Lucra Cars LLC. I worked under owner Luke Richards and Lead Mechanical Engineer Wes Cross. Responsibilities ranged from drawing the chassis for a car to be used in the filming of the movie Fast and the Furious 7 and the cockpit role cage for a motorhome that attempted to set the land speed world record at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, to creating a 3D drawing of an already existing electric transmission to be used in a lager assembly and developing a safety wire tie bolt to be used in the LC470 A arms. Much of my work at Lucra was done on Solidworks where I was able to continue to learn and hone my skills in the 3D modeling/ engineering field. Other tasks included communicating with vendors of products and 3rd party services for the design team, managing special material orders needed for the projects such as the safety bolt ordered from Fastenal and custom windows to be used on the Fast Attack vehicle for Fast and the Furious 7. Many projects entailed designing prototypes and communicating clear specification to the fabrication shop to develop the prototype for preliminary fit-up before, ordering from vendors to meet deadline constraints. Additionally, I would assist with coordination production schedules to the fabrication shop, whether that be data entry handed down from the owner or helping to install some of the product on a few of the vehicles in the fabrication shop. These are just examples showcasing how I worked with a team of people with different responsibilities to complete our tasks on time. Show less
