Controls Software Engineer & Network Administrator
-
Apr 2007 - Present
I started as a Microsoft .NET developer working on various windows forms and web interfaces used to monitor and control Tilt-Tray Sorters, Conveyor equipment, Barcode Scanners, and Vision Camera equipment. I have worked heavily with Accu-Sort/Datalogic, Cognex, and Sick in my projects. Since then I have expanded into PLC development. Our control systems are developed using Phoenix Contact's Think N Do product, Rockwell Software's RSLogix/Studio 5000, and Siemens' TIA Portal product. Recently I have begun to design complex HMI (Human Machine Interface) systems for our equipment and am happy to announce I am a Certified Systems Integrator with the Schneider-Electric's Wonderware/Indusoft product. I am also moderately experienced with Inductive Automation's Ignition platform. Typically all software needs some sort of data storage mechanism and I prefer Microsoft Sql Server and MySQL. Because of my hardware support background from my days at Carolina's Healthcare System I took over the role of network administrator when there was a need for someone to help out there. From that time I have helped us upgrade our infrastructure, modernize our servers, protect our network assets, and generally clean up the network as a whole. In addition to this I also help with user problems so I guess you could say I am IT staff as well. I do some web development with asp.net, bootstrap framework, and jQuery. Show less

Support Center Technician
-
Mar 2006 - Apr 2007
Took various hospital support calls from all departments within Carolina's Medical Center hospitals and numerous Nursing Homes in Charlotte and surrounding areas. My responsibility was to solve the support issue, dispatch field technicians, and route specific inquiries to various specialty application groups. I staffed the entire support center alone on 3rd shift while taking calls from more than twenty facilities while supporting an environment of about 350-400 applications.
