Technical Assistant Piping Plover Project

The Technical Assistant position included assisting in the monitoring and conservation of the Piping Plover shorebird species. Some of my responsibilities included: surveying, data collection, data entry, habitat and population inventory and analysis. To acquire this information we were required to locate nests, enclose them, monitor them and if necessary translocate them due to the potential risk of flooding. The majority of the field work took place on the shores on Lake Diefenbaker. The Technical Assistant position included assisting in the monitoring and conservation of the Piping Plover shorebird species.
