I was primarily responsible for media campaigns and promotional planning. I generated revenue for the agency through advertising sales, below– and above-the-line advertising campaigns, sourcing repeat business from existing clients and increasing revenue through generating new business. It was important to oversee that the agency’s actions were in line with agreements, procedures and budgets and reflected a unified and agreed point of view which I had to control. I had to evaluate projects from a profitability point of view and was in charge of media planning and advertising budgets (the largest being R2 million). I worked on various programs such as “Noot vir Noot” (where my SMS concept for the “Noot Assosiasie” competition received over 1 million hits in the launch month), YO-TV, Tube, The Weakest Link, Survivor, Die Nutsman, Amazing Race, A Word Or 2, Top Billing, Soul Buddies, 50/50, PEP Stores, etc. and numerous radio stations (5fm, Metro, RSG, Thobela and Phala Phala etc).
