Responsibilities: Providing case management, job training, education, and counseling for youth ages 14-24, 300+ participants yearly. Region includes county supervisorial district 1 and 2 (East Los Angeles, South Los Angeles, and Florence Firestone). Servicing youth facing the following barriers; low income, homeless, foster care, juvenile probation, domestic violence, and substance abuse. Responsible for developing and implementing an individualized study plan for Work Readiness Training and remediation for Basic Skills Training. Conducting instruction for individual and group settings. Leading assessment of participants and interpreting Individual Service Strategy (ISS) to determine individual educational short and long term goal. Providing case management to help participants meet ISS goal. Maintaining and submitting, in a timely manner, written individual records and monthly reports. Attending department, agency, consortia, WIB meetings and other community and government training sessions applicable to Workforce Investment Act (WIA) education and training of youth. Collaboratively recruitment through business development with community businesses, organizations, and school districts. Show less
