Being an RRT at CHW is both a rewarding and a humbling experience every day worked. I started out as an Intern I while I was in school. In this title I was mainly responsible for cleaning equipment, stocking and ordering supplies and equipment and setting up and OVP the Servo-i, Evita, flowdrivers, HFNC, trach collar poles and Oscillators. As I progressed to an Intern II (2nd year of school ), pt care was introduced. I worked with children in the acute care areas. These disease processes included: asthma, bronchiolitis, Pneumonia, croup, Cystic Fibrosis, BMT, ALL, pre and post surgical pts. Treatments consisted of nebs, MDI's, smart vest, cough assist, EZPep, Therapep and IS. I have continued working at CHW since graduating and obtaining my RRT in 2011 mainly working in the PICU's on vented patients. Show less
