As a Microsoft's CSP reseller, we have many distributors to choose from. But from a business development perspective, Gooi Lee makes the choice much easier. Nobody needs a distributor that only chases you for numbers at the end of each FY (though necessary). What you need is someone who looks hard into your business goals, understand your capabilities/limitations - then apply a regional/global perspective to help you hone your vision and focus your energy to differentiate in the marketplace. Gooi Lee has been exceptional in leading the team during his time in rhipe. I have the opportunity to work with him as part of the Malaysian team, and it has been a once in a lifetime journey to have grown the business together with him. The team started off with very limited resources and a mere 3 person team in Malaysia, there were times when things were really bad and dire. Gooi Lee seizes the opportunity and steps up as the leader, taking up the roles and responsibilities of a Country Manager and put in all the blood and sweat to turn the company around. He has great business sense and is always able to think out of the box when it comes to strategies. Even with limited resources, he is able to pull a rabbit out of the hat to make the impossible, possible. Under his leadership, rhipe Malaysia has grown from a contender in the Microsoft distributor space, into the leader in Microsoft CSP business. The team was also awarded with numerous Partner of the Year titles and gained the respect from our partners as well as our competitors in the market. The company has also grown from a mere 3 person shop, into the largest rhipe sales entity in SEA. I really appreciate having the chance to partnered with him on this journey and would jump at the chance of working with him again.
