  * Build strong relationships with the business units through a demonstrated understanding and expertise of people, products, markets, and risk exposure. Utilize strong relationship skills to advise, consult, and influence appropriate courses of risk management. * Provide strong leadership and management for a professional staff of risk managers. Key among this responsibility is providing development opportunities and creating work streams that adequately provide for efficient and effective application of talents in a structure of “pooled resources" supporting the CRO team. * Provide risk management oversight via membership on business unit Risk and Capital Committees. * Partner with business units to ensure risk exposure and policy compliance reporting is consistent with Group defined methodology and ensuring local management appreciates and understands the business unit risk exposure. * Provide risk management support to the business units when needed to include peer and technical review of risk management issues and local hands on assistance. * Share and implement risk management best practices across the organization. * Oversee implementation of Group level risk management risk framework initiatives such as Economic Framework, risk governance standards, etc * Assume valuation responsibility and risk assessment oversight for M&A activity. This includes ensuring other risk disciplines are involved in the process such as Operational Risk Management and Corporate Risk Management. * Provide input on the effectiveness and performance of business unit risk management disciplines and performance.
