Tammy is a highly skilled and capable fundraising and development professional who is an extremely organized, resourceful, driven and responsible problem solver. She worked in a temporary capacity for Summit Academy OIC, serving as our Interim Development and Special Events Coordinator during a twelve week period while our full-time Coordinator was out on maternity leave. In a short period of time, she quickly came up to speed and did a phenomenal job of working with a small internal team to simultaneously create, manage and implement several fundraising and development-related projects as well as special event. These included Summit’s annual spring appeal campaign, four donor house party fundraisers and our 10th Annual Golf Classic Tournament held on June 11th--which was our most financially successful tournament to date. As her immediate supervisor, I was impressed by Tammy’s self-motivation and strong event organization and management skills as well as her ability to multi-task, adapt and meet the changing needs of the organization. I found her to be a dedicated and dependable employee and would be delighted to recommend her for hire within the Minnesota philanthropic community, or in any capacity that she would choose to pursue.

Tammy is one of the best strategic thinkers I know, in addition to being a hard worker. I have worked with her in many capacities, including event planning and community organizing. She excels in both.

As the Major Gifts Officer for the YWCA St. Paul, I am responsible for raising philanthropic support for the YWCA's annual, planned giving, and capital initiatives and for leading the design, development and implementation of YWCA's major gift program. Working closing with the CEO and Director of Development, I am also responsible for executing strategies to achieve the agency's overall strategic fundraising and development goals. Through the utilization of both a donor-centric and community-centered fundraising approach, I work to build donor relationships through personalized strategies designed to actively grow the agency's base of individual donors within our community. My goal in this position, in collaboration with the YWCA St. Paul's Leadership and Board of Directors, is not only to ensure growth and stability for the organization through increased revenue, but to also help donors within our community find alignment between their own individual passions and interests and their philanthropic investments.
