Instrumental in organizing, hiring, implementing set-up of a new SBA Loan Production office with Kristin “Didi” Hakes for the bank. The Bank was able to procure 100% audit from SBA as well as receive PLP Status within one year’s time in the Santa Ana, Los Angeles, and San Diego District offices. Department hit $40mm in loans for the year 2003 and is ranked 3rd in production under the heavy hitters such as Wells Fargo, B & A, and US Bank. Responsible for screening all loan packages submitted by brokers and assigning to underwriters if qualified, reviewing all credit write-ups and amendments for compliance to SBA and bank policy. Supervision and training of SBA loan officers according to standard operating procedures. Act as Department Manager and work with the BDO’s on structure and where they deal will fit, Worked with Secondary Market utilizing their programs for the bank’s success, worked with processing to insure deals closed in a timely fashion. Act as a liaison between brokers, other institutions, and in house development officers for development of potential loan customers. Underwriting and recommending for approval, for underwriting and credit analysis for new and existing SBA 7 (a) and 504, Conventional R/E, and Construction RE loans. Additionally, review all submission and documentation for loans. Track all phases of the construction loan from underwriting, monitoring disbursements and site visits, to permanent take out source. Responsible for loan portfolio assigned to officer for financial statements, ticklers, servicing, past dues, etc. Prepare problem loan reports; assist with sales to the secondary market of SBA loans and other duties as assigned to assist Department Manager.
