Within the Advanced Development & AI Research department of Quibim, we are developing a tool for the automatic segmentation of brain tumors. Using deep learning networks, we are currently running experiments to achieve multi-label segmentation of glioblastomas. Additionally, the required preprocessing of the MR images, such as skull-stripping and normalization, will be investigated. Our goal is to develop a deep learning network that accurately predicts brain age from MRI data. Instead of using simple anatomical images, we use DTI derived structural connectivity data as input for our network. We expect that white matter connectome integrity will be highly predictive of brain age. In contrast to most deep learning networks, we seek to identify which regions and connections drive the prediction, and in this way gain a better understanding of the brain regions and connections involved in ageing. Full-time member of the SensUs organization with the focus on expanding the network of our competition and defined new strategies to keep innovating. This includes amongst others: shaping the biomarker roadmap, defining KPI's, establishing new collaborations and leading the reorganization of our 30-headed team to achieve an effective organizational structure. Together with a team coach, we evaluated our DISC profiles and the effect of personalities on team dynamics. SensUs is an international student competition on biosensors for health care. Within the Honors Academy of the TU Eindhoven, we organized the first edition in 2016. See www.sensus.org for more information on the competition. In the SensUs organisation we were forced to think innovative, take initiative and come up with creative solutions. Personal development played a crucial role within our organisation. I have developed my professional writing skills and gained experience in working in a large multidisciplinary team. Show less
