Serve as the Lead Speech Therapist for Public School System in Rural Eastern North Carolina. In addition to serving as the Lead, I also manage a large Elementary School serving Pre-K through 5th Grade. Largest School in the County with the highest performance levels. Work with students with multi-level speech-language delays/impairments. Work with classroom teachers, parents and other therapeutic providers to enhance academic and functional performance of each student served. Provide direct services to students, supervision to Clinical Fellows, education and training to school personnel, and coordination of services for contract Speech therapists. Serve as Case Manager for students whose primary Exceptional Children's service category is Speech-Language: managing their confidential records, coordinating related services that may be needed to address student's needs, implementing evaluation and treatment services for communication delays, communicating with classroom teachers to ensure that academic areas affected by communication deficits are being monitored and adapted as needed, develop Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) to address strengths and weaknesses and design communication goals to best meet the needs of each student. Serve as Lead SLP for Edgecombe County Schools. Oversee paperwork, compliance and services for county slp therapists. Coordinate monthly meetings for County Speech Therapists to implement new procedures as needed, address concerns, improve morale, discuss strategies for improving service delivery, and attend regional meetings and workshops as representative for Edgecombe County Speech Therapists.
