As a Mechanical Design Engineer, I successfully completed more than 30 projects of diverse nature within a span of 05 years. Design and Development includes:1. FEM-based analysis of Mechanical handling equipment and manipulators using the latest tools, i.e., ANSYS. 2. Design and development of Mechanical structures, platforms, Industrial Furnaces and precision parts from concepts to production3. Industrial workshop design using STAAD Pro, Tekla and ASCE 7-054. Geometric Dimension and Tolerances (GDT) according to ASME Y14.56. Material selection based on functionality and mechanical strengths requirements7. Managed a design team to realize design model to manufacturing drawings including all necessary production detailsKey responsibilities include:1. Prepared technical reports and documentation 2. Conducting preliminary designs to prepare feasibility reports, Bill of Materials (BOM), and man-hour calculations.3. Providing preliminary design details to the estimation department during project inquiries to optimize project cost. 4. Performing detailed mechanical design work and meticulously reviewing manufacturing drawings ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.5. Leading drafting staff for manufacturing drawings 6. Preparing material and equipment technical specifications tailored to project requirements.7. Ensuring timely delivery of design documents to other departments, supporting project timelines.8. Collaborating with the purchasing department for tendering materials 9. Conducting design reviews to optimize cost/resources using material from company stock..10. Coordinating with fabrication shops to address design or manufacturing issuesTechnical Skills:1. CAD/CAM Software (SolidWorks, Spaceclaim, AutoCAD)2. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools i.e. Ansys Static Structural and Ansys Thermal 3. Steel Structure Design tools i.e. Staad Pro and Tekla 4. Other: MS Office, MS Excel, VBA Show less

Being a graduate researcher, I studied removal of elemental iodine from gases using Filtered Containment Venting System (FCVS). Iodine was scrubbed from gases by passing it through venturi placed in scrubbing solution. This task was performed using commercially available software ANSYS FLUENT. Two phase Euler-Euler multiphase model was used while transfer of iodine from gaseous phase to liquid phase was modelled using species transport model. Unavailability of multiphase multispecies model for iodine is real challenge in ANSYS Fluent. A user defined function (UDF), written in Fortran language, was built and coupled with ANSYS Fluent to model multiphase and multispecies transport behavior of iodine scrubbing in venturi scrubber. Simulation results validated already published experimental results. The successful execution of project well accoladed by scientific community and also opened new avenues of research. The results were published in an International Journal "Progress in Nuclear Energy" as "CFD investigation of iodine mass transfer in venturi scrubbing solution of Filtered Containment Venting System" Show less
