      With my USDA 1890 scholarship, I was given the opportunity to internship with USDA-APHIS, Veterinary Services for Summer 2021 and Summer 2022. I have officially finished my internships with the Center for Epidemiology and Animal Health, (CEAH). For my first year, I worked on a project called Lessons Learned, a repository report where I connected with numerous current and former CEAH employees who were/are Project Leaders and discussed their highs and lows of the projects and it’s activities. For my second year, I worked with the Surveillance and Design Analysis team to create case modules for surveillance design training, and quality checked data for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza during the 2022 HPAI outbreak. With this I also had the opportunity to travel to Fort Collins, CO to obtain Field Operations experience during the HPAI outbreak and to visit CEAH. Show less
