      • Deliver strong interpersonal skills and a respectable bedside manner. Provide patients with a clear explanation of the details pertaining to each procedure and instruct patients on proper positioning during each exam. Measure electrical activity in peripheral nerves and record conduction velocities in accordance with the staff Neurologist’s needle EMG results, to assist in diagnosing Neuromuscular disorders. Proficient in the use of Nicolet Viking and TECA synergy machines. Follow specific detailed protocols and use accepted normal values in the EMG lab. Ensure accuracy in precise placement of surface recording and reference electrodes to extremities, which produce electrical impulses measuring compound motor and sensory action potentials and the latencies at which they are conducted. Proper temperature of the extremities is maintained and recorded to improve conduction velocities and waveform amplitudes. Electrode paste is used on patient’s skin to ensure good contact of electrodes, minimizing any impedance or shock artifact that may be present and finally analyzing the results of case studies to ensure conformity to specifications, which are documented with the use of charts and narratives. • Assist in Performing Evoked Potentials. • Maintain exam rooms by making sure electrodes are routinely cleaned and completely functional. Make sure supplies and linens are fully stocked. Show less
