During the 2020-2021 school year I had the pleasure of having Tad Bauer as my student intern. Throughout his time working in the classroom with the students and myself he exhibited many abilities one looks for in a teacher and teammate. As you may already know, this school year has been a challenging one, with remote learning, hybrid learning, and in person learning. Tad was able to successfully show that he was able to teach and motivate students to learn in a variety of different situations. He was extremely flexible and changed and adjusted his plans and lessons as needed to make student learning meaningful and engaging. He always stepped up to help when needed. We spent the majority of our school year in person with our students. Tad not only took over on lead teaching of our core curriculum, he also planned for and instructed two enrichment reading groups daily. He team taught math with engaging thought provoking stations and small groups. Tad built a strong rapport with the students from the beginning. He made time for each student, checking in with the students daily about their feelings and their understanding of the concepts being taught. He helped students set personal daily or long term goals to help motivate their learning and be successful. Tad would be a great addition to your school community and teaching team.
