Tamer was recruited as a Technical Specialist at Knowledge Point LLC (an Emirates Advanced Investments subsidiary) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role initially focused on architecting and developing web-based visualisation and communications solutions for a Military, Modelling & Simulation project designed to provide Concept Development and Experimentation (CD&E) services in support of Joint Operations. This role transitioned into Technical Project Management / Consultation focussing primarily in the training & education sectors for military, government and regional clients. During this time, the development and deployment of customised educational systems and services (Mobile App, Device Policy mgmt., Learning Management Systems, Assessment Systems) and Digital Publishing design workflows (iBook and ePub3 interactive books) were designed and developed in-house and deployed to private and public education sectors. Most notably, the consultation, solutions architecting and project management of a nation-wide educational ecosystem centring around the use of tablet computers in the Vocational education sector was achieved; a first for the region. Contract position focussing on the architecting and redevelopment of business financial reporting / forecasting and billing for nationwide datacentre and enterprise web hosting service provider. Part of this development also included intranet-based solutions to improve operational, financial and general reporting and tracking of hosting customers and internal systems (e.g. VOIP phone metrics for customer service etc). This resulted in the reduction of monthly staff efforts across 2 states, from 4-5 days down to 1-2 hours while increasing reliability and accuracy of data. The role also entailed the specifications writing and formal business requirements capture for a new online venture for the company specifically around mobility (i.e. SMS, MMS etc marketing and provisioning). The role was primarily Software Architecture and development of key web-based financial systems and supporting services which included the ground up re-development of ‘Issuer Online’ financial product, one of Computershare’s globally profitable web applications running in North America, EMEA & Oceania. Involvement was from concept, prototype to full global implementation and rollout. Most notably the development of the company’s first ‘user personalizable’ web dashboard as part of Issuer Online. Primary Technology used was the .net web part framework along with JQuery, CSS and WCF web services. With a primary objective to make the dashboard modules reusable and extensible by the internal development team as well as other global CTS development teams. The possibility of hosting the modules in Microsoft SharePoint was also a requirement. The Issuer Online Dashboard launched to rave reviews globally and set a new benchmark in Computershare’s online offering especially in terms of client usability and flexibility. Development of an Intranet / Extranet based SSRS Reporting search and rendering framework which was used successfully to deliver Issuer Online Company based reports. Laid out guidelines for replacing / improving the CTS existing content management system which is being used globally for all multilingual data delivery to all CTS developed applications. Show less
