Over the years I have been engaged in active citizenship through fundraising and launching small scale initiatives to provide assistance to those in need. Here is a list of some of my ventures: 2021: Raised funds to provide 100 packets of eco-friendly sanitary pads for women who were affected by the fire in a slum in Okhla Harkesh Nagar on 7th February 2019: Conducted a book drive for improving the library facilities of the Nigam Pratibha Vidyalaya, an under-resourced government school. I collected over 150 books for the library and raised Rs. 40,000 to improve the safety of the school's playground by levelling the uneven and rocky ground with sand. This protected students from injuring themselves while playing; Raised Rs 35,000 for an underfunded dog shelter, Posh Foundation; Took civic action to ensure convex mirrors were installed at blind turnings in Gulmohar Park to improve road safety. 2018: Took civic action to get a Traffic Signal reactivated at a dangerous junction in Hauz Khas, New Delhi. 2016: Organized a Games Day for underprivileged Balwadi students at my high school and organized a fundraiser across my grade to provide stationery kits for 100 Balwadi students we were tutoring. The covid-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted women leaving them without jobs and access to essential products. Often relief services offered during the lockdown in India overlooked women's needs. Shakti Kits was launched to respond to the needs of women who had been adversely impacted by the covid-19 crises such as migrant workers, women in homeless shelters, and those affected by the floods in Bihar. We raised over 2.5 lakhs via crowdfunding and independently created 1500 care kits comprised of food, hygiene and menstrual hygiene products which were distributed over the summer of 2020. In order to be environmentally conscious a portion of the kits were packed in upcycled cloth bags and biodegradable sanitary pads were sponsored by various companies. I was involved in spearheading the project, managing the logistics, coordinating with stakeholders and activists, and securing sponsorships. Show less

Project Mapping Lives is a social initiative that aims to tackle the issue of a lack of quality public education in India. We believe that quality education does not merely refer to the delivery of academics, but rather should be able to produce a critical thinker of the 21st century while each student feels heard, motivated, and respected. We provide a platform for underprivileged Balwadi students from grades 4 and 5 to explore social values and morals (breaking gender stereotypes, protecting the environment, preventing animal cruelty, anti-bullying, etc) that are often left unaddressed by the Indian public education curriculum while engaging in critical thinking and opinion building. The sessions are self-created, revolving around discussions in the form of Socratic Dialogue, on moral based literature accompanied by various activities and writing tasks.
