      • Oct 1995 - Present

My duties include teaching, research, and administration. I am currently engaged in projects using Nanoparticles to suppress plant diseases, in collaboration with the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station, New Haven, United States. My research aims to increase the productivity and quality of tropical and sub-tropical crops through improved diagnostic and management of diseases. My area of research includes improved conventional/molecular diagnostic techniques and the management of plant diseases using biological control micro-organisms and genetic resistance; in an integrated management approach. I am a UK Global Talent in Plant Pathology, endorsed by the UK Royal Society. I am also the President of the Phytopathological Society of Nigeria. I am an active member of both APS and BSPP, I contribute a workshop on "How to Write Winning Grant Proposals" to the International Society for Plant Pathology Congress (ICPP2018 Boston and ICPP2023 Lyon). I worked with CAES scientists, investigating the role of nanoparticles of CuO in suppressing Fusarium root rot of genetically modified soybeans. CAES was founded in 1875 and is the oldest Agricultural Experiment Station in the US, and one of the most reputable research institutions, conducting research in the areas of Entomology, Plant Pathology, Environmental Sciences, Forestry and Horticulture, Analytical Chemistry, and Vector Biology and Zoonotic Diseases. Many CAES scientists are also affiliated with nearby universities including Yale University and University of Connecticut, where they teach, advise students, and conduct research. My collaboration with CAES programs advancing plant health is still ongoing. Show less

My duties included teaching, research and administration. I prepared and delivered lectures, tutorials, seminars and laboratory classes, appropriate to Biology and Microbiology Departments; on a defined, specific and sometimes specialist subject (for undergraduate), with associated assessments, within an existing course framework. I also contributed to undergraduate research project supervision. I embarked on an individual research project. I published my research outcome in a paper presented at the 2013 British Society for Plant Pathology Meeting at the University of Reading, UK. I acted as course adviser/personal tutor to undergraduate students and perform other university assigned duties.
