  As Special Assistant to the Minister for Planning, Development and Reform, I steered the process of formulation of Pakistan Vision 2025 document and its implementation by various agencies of the Government at the Federal and Provincial levels. I, coordinate on behalf of the Minister with different public and private sector agencies for development of various innovative projects/programs in line with the seven pillars of Vision 2025 document. I also monitor and evaluate projects relating to the infrastructure, water, environment and food security sectors and recommend actions to the Minister to improve performance of various programs/projects in the aforementioned sectors. I also manage various reform initiatives of the Government to introduce a high performance culture.   I was an active member of the Steering Committee that guided and coordinated the process of formulation of National Climate Change Policy and National Action Plans. As National Focal Point for the UNFCCC, I participated in the Climate Change negotiations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. As Head of Clean Development Mechanism, I accorded host country approval to CDM projects in Pakistan. As Designated National Authority for Adaptation Fund, I approved adaptation projects for funding support from the Adaptation Fund. As Focal Point for Asia Pacific Network, I participated in expert level meetings organised by the APN Secretariat. I also worked as Project Director for the Glacial Lake Outburst Floods Project in Northern Areas of Pakistan. Show less

  As Senior Environmental Expert, I worked for mainstreaming of environmental guidelines into the rehabilitation work after the devastating earthquake of 8th October 2005 in Pakistan. I developed disaster risk reduction strategies for the earthquake affected areas. I was also an active member of the team that carried out rapid environmental impact assessment and presented a report to the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
