    • Impact of Heat Pumps on Low Voltage Distribution Network and its Harmonics Assessment
      • May 2016 - Nov 2016

This project was conducted within distribution area of DNO (Northern Powergrid) and all the data and specifications were provided by them. In this project, DIgSILENT Powerfactory software was used to facilitate the modelling of the linear and non-linear characteristics of the existing loads as well as the new heat pump loads. Simulation results for various levels of the heat pumps deployment were analysed. The simulation was based on the generic test LV distribution network model to capture the key features of the UK distribution practice. The simulation focused on the impact of the existing and additional loading of the network, voltage variation, assessment of harmonic current limits and harmonic analysis as per Engineering Recommendation G 5/4-1 and IEC 61000 standards.
