  Through the Bio/Diversity Project (an outreach initiative run by Women in Science and Engineering), I work with 2 other interns to create and present 9 environmental science lessons to local 8th grade students. All of our lessons are place-based and culturally relevant, as we seek to encourage underrepresented students to see themselves as scientists in an effort to close the gap in representation within environmental science.
