Vision and Image Understanding Lab

  ● Led a team of fellow undergraduate research assistants in an exploration of the link between familiarity of a face and how an individual's preferred fixation location may change as familiarity increases. Used Matlab to clean data, R-studio to analyze it, and led peers in the creation of a presentation of our research and findings. ● Formatting physical and online consent forms that are up to IRB standards and understandable to subjects without a psychological education or knowledge of eye-tracking and facial recognition.● Creating advertisement flyers to recruit older community members to take part in paid longitudinal study.● Creating online subject information surveys to collect information that could be a potential experimental variable. ● Designed and modified 3D online models of homes that will later be used to compare human and AI behavior and navigation within and through these familiar spaces.● Annotated images on Matlab to track eye gaze in images of humans.● Used GIMP 2 to crop images from various face datasets to later test how the Composite Face Effect alters AI perception.● Effectively communicates with graduate student supervisors and other undergraduate research assistants while helping conduct research remotely.
