As an OTAS I am participating in direct patient care to include intervention planning, providing one-on-one OT services, completing documentation, and participating in environmental maintenance. I am becoming familiar with assessments such as the BERG, MMSE, QuickDASH, DHI, ABC, and FGA. I am being exposed to vestibular, neurological, and orthopedic patient diagnoses. Became familiar with assessments including Sensory Profile, Beery, and retained reflexes. Provided direct patient care, environmental maintenance, and completed documentation. The experience was facilitated by St.Catherine OTA faculty members. Quality video Case Study resources were presented with the opportunity to develop observational and documentation skills. This experience focused on goals, documentation, and intervention planning. The case study focused on a young adult in acute care who experienced a stroke.
