I currently act as secretary/administrator for the External Audit Department at B&S and also as PA to the Partner heading up External Audit. My duties include typing and amending reports in a variety of formats i.e. financial statements, business plans, tenders and audit plans/management letters, thus working to tight deadlines. I am also responsible for looking after the running of the department which entails booking accommodation for the audit staff and my four managers, arranging travel, meetings, diary management and liaising with other partners in the company. My duties also include handling general client correspondence, letters, emails, telephone messages etc. and the monitoring of client records. As well as the skills I have obtained through formal training, I am also competent in using the Microsoft Office Suite of Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). At B&S I use Outlook and Star (timesheets) and also Windream. Show less

Office Secretary / PA

Aug 1990 - Dec 2002
I was employed by RPG for a total of twelve and a half years. I list below a brief resume of my work experiences :- Personal Assistant (PA) to Company Partner For the last five years at RPG I worked as PA for one of the partners of the company and occasionally the senior partner. I was also secretary for the Tax Department and worked for two tax managers and three tax seniors within the department. The dual responsibility encouraged me to assess and prioritise my workload. The majority of the accountancy work included the typing up of small company accounts, tax computations and schedules and general day-to-day audio work. The work I carried out for the Tax Department was again, audio work, and ensuring that all Tax Returns were submitted to the Revenue on time. I also had the responsibility of organising all staff timesheets on a weekly basis. I was also required to cover on a rota basis on reception with the other secretaries when the receptionist was on holiday. Secretary to Insolvency Department Working as the secretary for the Insolvency Department gave me a chance to develop my skills and also the opportunity to progress further. The majority of the work involved was the typing of creditor reports, notices, proxies and the organisation of creditor meetings and dealing with creditor queries and general day to day correspondence. As much of this work had to be produced by deadlines, e.g. the circulation of creditor letters and reports, I feel that I have developed the ability to work efficiently and effectively under considerable pressure. Office Junior My role as office junior was to assist the senior secretaries and to undertake any general office duty. The work involved was copy typing, audio typing, filing, photocopying, relief cover on reception and switchboard, sorting and franking the mail and any other general office duty e.g. running errands etc. Show less
