The strategic marketing workshops have provided our Football Club with clear goals for the coming years and Suzanne led the sessions superbly. Previously we were floating along, moving from one issue to another and it was difficult to identify progress and purpose. The workshops gave our committee ownership and responsibility and we now have clear measurable objectives that drive forward our committee meetings and that will make the Club successful.

Epigram is a multi-channel design studio, helping brands communicate effectively using design, animation and film. They work alongside in-house design teams, business development and marketing teams and directly with other key stakeholders at all levels within there clients’ businesses. For 26 years they have supported clients across the world to help them develop, refine and articulate their brand in ways that make sense to their individual audiences. They work closely with clients to develop integrated multi-channel campaigns, with creative across print, digital and social channels to deliver an enhanced, effective message. They have offices in Manchester and Kuala Lumpur. My role as creative designer involves working digitally and for print for a range of clients such as the Arts Council, The NHS, Manchester University, Manchester Business School, Manchester Metropolitan, Huddersfield University, Manchester Museum, and the charity Gaddum. This involves discussing with my manager and the senior designer the client’s requirements so that we can develop a brief. I develop concepts, graphics, layouts, illustrations, logos, animations, email designs and websites. I prepare rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief. I review final designs and suggest improvements if required with my manager and senior designer. I present finalised ideas and concepts to my manager and senior designer. Working in this role for these clients has given me the opportunity to produce meaningful and important design work.

Suzanne is an independent graphic designer specialising in logos and visual identities. I have business acumen in that I understand how my work can influence sales ‘hit rate’, ‘enquiry levels’ and ultimately ‘revenue’. I can also create visual impact to help charitable companies or media companies convey a message more effectively. I design elegant, fitting, creative and well-crafted logos. I like to share my passion on my website and social media platforms. If I am within a corporate organisation my experience has helped me to influence hit rate and enquiry levels by recommending, implementing & designing personalised email campaigns. Furthermore, my business acumen ensures these campaigns are organised, designed & issued at the correct time e.g. if a trade show is being attended that the email campaign goes out well in advance to maximise potential foot traffic. I am personable, trustworthy and talented. I am a proven expert in graphic design especially at creating visual identities from small local business to large organisations. I’m a proven expert at designing user friendly icons for websites for small business and large content driven website for a large organisation. I’m skilled at illustration and photography and can create my own images from conception. I can come up with creative, conceptual ideas that are unique and create value. I believe in lateral thinking and creative development. I have a wide range of design skills for digital and print. I have mentored designers that have proven to improve their design skills and excelled in their design work. I can collaborate with web programmers and printers. Although my core skills are in graphic design, I also have skills in Marketing, Brand strategy, Photography, 3-D, animation and film editing.

I was the creative graphic designer & ‘go to’ person concerning all aspects of graphic design at the General Medical Council (GMC) which employs 1000 people in the UK and maintains/regulates the medical professional sector. Played a key role in leading the brand identity refresh work which involved the research, design and development of a fresh, unique, memorable and effective GMC brand identity system consistent across all touch points including website graphics, blog posts, social media posts, emails, important publications, reports, and awareness campaigns which required strategic and conceptual thinking. This involved lobbying my new ideas to the head of Marketing and a commitment to effective design and craftsmanship. The new GMC identity system helped the organisation differentiate itself from other related or similar organisations such as the NHS. Created an effective system of communication for the GMC by designing a unique, memorable, consistent family of beautifully crafted icons and infographics used on different sections of the GMC website which uses the Sitecore content management system (CMS). These engaged the audience, help to strengthen the GMC’s brand identity, and improve the user interface and user experience such as the ‘Decision tool’ icons and the research icons. These icons and infographics were also used in publications and reports. Design of a unique, memorable and effective brand identity for the Medical Practice Tribunal Service (MPTS) consistent across all touch points. The new MPTS identity system helped the organisation differentiate itself from other related or similar organisations such as the GMC. I assisted with the presentation for the new brand identity to heads of section and to key leading members of the MPTS and GMC. Also helped with testing the new identity on focus groups.

During this time as a freelancer I worked for agencies such as Media City based Drumbeat and Wink Nudge and my own clients including ‘The Dry Cleaner App’ and various small business’. This involved working on Logo and identity designs, App and website designs, infographics, UI icon sets, Exhibition design, Email design, Social Media content design, retouching architectural floor-plans and various print materials. An example of my media city based client work is an App company called The Dry Cleaner App. This App removes some of the everyday hassle of organising the collection, processing & delivery of the client’s garments. The services offered in connection with garment care are visible to the client on their mobile. Customers can select the store and deal direct with the garment care professional processing the order and speak with store management by phone with any queries. While working closely with the communications team at The Dry Cleaner App it was up to me to modernise their visual aesthetic and appeal to a new generation of customers & investors as well as maintain the relationship and support for established audiences. I enhanced & maintained an approachable aesthetic & tone of voice, I helped to better communicate and promote their core services to give them a more fresh approachable aesthetic and give each service a stronger visual voice within the brand mix. I also enhanced consistency and usability of the visual identity and materials by introducing a more professional typeface and introduced a new set of typographic rules to ensure readability. I created a series of engaging, flexible graphic devices were introduced to help communicate the core services and marketing messages across the App online, communications and printed material.

During this internship I spent a day at Musion Studios and shadowed Art Director Oliver Gingrich throughout his working day which involved meeting clients including Tony Langford regarding the curation of the Kinetica fair in October 2014 which I attended. I also had the opportunity to show Oliver my MA final project, Haunted i-phone via Palm Top theatre along with my report, which he liked very much. Over the course of 4 weeks, I also created a series of Mood boards for him to present to his clients which he was also very happy with.

I was the creative graphic designer at leading North West accountancy Champion Accountants as part OF the in-house Champion Marketing team, delivering the marketing needs of satellite Champion offices across the North West which employed over 100 people. In addition Champion Marketing acted as an agency to a number of external clients. While working with a wide range of media, including digital, print and photography I helped the marketing team implement the firm's marketing strategy across the Champion offices. This involved providing designs for events that took place in the UK and abroad such as seminars, networking, exhibitions and the annual SME conference. Designing for external clients included discussing the business objectives and requirements of the project with the Marketing Director and the Marketing team. I worked with my team on developing design briefs by gathering information and data through research. I then used our research to produce new ideas and concepts that are rooted in business strategy. I also used innovation to redefine the design brief within the constraints of cost and time. I designed a unique logo and brand identity for the Champion’s ‘Elevation’ business conference that is hosted in conjunction with George Davies Solicitors LLP. Elevation. The whole event is dedicated to stimulating, energising and inspiring delegates whilst delivering sound, practical business advice. This was a leading Manchester conference and included business speakers such as Tom Bloxom, James Timpson OBE of the Timpson group, Nick Leason, Olympic champions Stephen Cram CBE and Sir Mathew Pinsent CBE and was presented by Anthony H Wilson and Lucy Mycock. It was up to me to design promotional materials such as a dedicated website, a printed brochure and tickets. During the event I also took part in the photography. Other tasks completed: -a quarterly accountancy newsletter. -designs for internal communications. -working with web developers and printers
