Suzanne and I had the opportunity to team up while working with clients in a single room occupancy (SRO) building. While I had to come and go from the building, Suzanne was a permanent fixture for the clients. On multiple occupations, clients have told me how much they respected and appreciated her and her ability to be a good listener, offer suggestions, as well as her ability to be a wealth of knowledge and resources. Suzanne was all of these things for me as well. I truly appreciate that about her. Not only is she very calm and easy to talk with but she is greatly dedicated to her job and the clients she works with. Creating independence is very important to Suzanne. She is the kind of person that will lead a horse to water, and teach them how they got to there in the process so they can more effectively make it there the next time. She leads by example and her patience to do so is outstanding. I have learned so much from her and look forward to seeing her continued success in everything she does.

    • Family Social Work Clinician
      • Feb 2002 - Jun 2009

As a Family Social Work Clinician I provided family therapy within the home and office settings. These families came to the Focus on Families program through Oswego County Department of Social Services as the children in the family were facing removal from the home for fostercare placements. As a Family Social Work Clinician, the family or individuals in the family met to work towards greater functionality within the family. Together with Oswego County case managers, probation officers and youth advocates, the Focus on Families clinician was the lead professional to bring appropriate services into the family. Once services were working with the family, the therapy appointments were designed to help the families create core family goals. Show less
