For my master thesis, I assisted in the 'GABA for Health' intervention study. This study investigated the effects of GABA supplements on several parameters in pre-diabetic participants. During these months I also wrote a thesis on GABA-producing bacteria, which might be involved in maintaining GABA blood levels.

For my bachelor project, I did a combined internship and thesis on Necrotizing Enterocolitis and gastrointestinal morphology at the Tytgat Institute at the Amsterdam Medical Centre. Here I performed lab work, including staining of gastrointestinal samples and qPCR. I evaluated gastrointestinal morphology of the samples and scored them on Necrotizing Enterocolitis severity.
