  I have a strong academic background, following a Joint Honours Languages degree at the University of Manchester. After this, I lived in Barcelona, where I completed my C.A.P. (the equivalent of a P.G.C.E.) at the University of Barcelona and I completed my Part-time Master degree in Spanish, in May 2004. I have an avid interest in languages, and I currently have experience of teaching Spanish and French from Key stage 1 to Key stage 5, (3-18yrs). However, I have also closely worked with the EAL Team, as I was trained in English as a Foreign Language in England (Trinity College London) but also in Spain through the teaching qualification I gained and as Head of languages, I was responsible for thInevitablyis area in my previous school. I have had several years teaching experience for English as a Foreign Language and know that all my experience of teaching languages and my leadership and management experience will benefit your team. As the Coordinator for the Development of Curriculum and Assessment, I needed to be up to date with any changes to the UK National Curriculum, assessment practices and recording procedures. I led initiatives to improve and develop the curriculum and assessment procedures to meet the needs of all students I led and organised professional development in order to ensure the successful introduction of new initiatives and strategies in these areas. As the Head of Modern Foreign Languages, I shared my expertise and best practice to provide a solid basis and excellent support for all teachers within the department and for the student teachers alike. I provided Teaching and Learning INSET and always shared good ideas and practice through our department meetings. I proudly claim high standards of attainment at both KS4 and 5. I ensured the teaching in the department was of an excellent standard through rigorous lesson observations which highlighted examples of good practice whilst offering constructive advice for improvement.
