Led JDRF Australia's government policy and advocacy campaigns and built a national electorate based network of youth advocates.In run up to 2016 federal election JDRF advocates were crucial in securing pre-election commitment of $54m from the federal Coalition for a continuous glucose monitor access program as well as an $79.7m commitment from the Labor Opposition for a continuous glucose access monitor program, with a further $4m to extend an existing insulin pump program. Also worked closely with peak diabetes groups and clinicians to provide government which a background paper that assisted in framing these election commitments.JDRF awarded 2014 Charity of the Year in the Australian Charity Awards. The Award recognised JDRF's achievement in securing $35m in government funding over 5 years for the Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Research Network, and the central role of JDRF's network of youth advocates who campaigned to secure it.
