A full time coaching position at the leading swimming club in Norway. Coaching age groups (9-15yo), organizing training camps and taking responsibility of recruiting swimmers to the system that keeps on delivering high level athletes to the club. Leading teams of young instructors. This was a really good place to develop as a coach and I learned a lot about communication and developing swimmers in a way that will prepare them to a higher level of national and even international career. Highly recommend this place for any coach who wants to pursue a career in the Norwegian swimming. Show less

    • Development Head Coach
      • Aug 2013 - Mar 2015

Kolbotn IL is a sports club with 11 different sports. One of those is Swimming with around 150 active swimmers and a swim school that provides the basic swimming teaching to 1000 kids in a year in the local area, situated close to Oslo. During my first season at Kolbotn (2013-14) I worked as a talent developer with kids from 10 to 16 years old. All of the three groups I coached were competition groups on different stages of the swimmers careers. The second season (2014-15) I worked as a Development Head Coach, responsible about all of the kids in the Club under 11years old. In addition to this I had the responsibility about an active group of Masters swimmers. During my time at Kolbotn IL I studied the Norwegian language to the level that I can use it as my main language, not only on the pool deck, but also when communicating with the parents of the athletes and my Norwegian colleagues. Sports instructor for people with disabilities. The City of Espoo has a population of almost 300,000 people. During my one year as a city employee I was working as a part of a team of 14 sport instructors and 4 people responsible about developing the sport and leisure services for the people of Espoo. My main tasks were planning, organizing and coaching the lessons for disabled people in a close cooperation with another instructor. The level of abilities of the customers had a huge variety. In addition I got to be a part of organizing sport events and Summer camps. This job really taught me how to see abilities instead of disabilities. It was very important for me to provide my customers the joy and energy that sports and leisure can give... Not only focusing on the physical benefits of sports and exercise. Show less

I worked as a Coach for a group of young swimmers (8-11 years old) who started their swimming careers with me as their first coach. Somehow it always feels like a privilege to kick off a group of new swimmers, guide them trough their first competitions and teach them how the world of competitive swimming works. This was an hourly based job aside of my full time job, but I got to plan, organize and coach with my own style. I even had a great assist coach, who I got to teach about coaching and managing a group of swimmers and their parents. I only coached the group for 6 months. The reason I left the group was my first full time coaching position that was offered to me from Kolbotn, Norway. Show less
