Susy has had extensive experience working with college access programs. She had experience in advising, to managing a caseload of students, to also running summer residential programming. Susy is an advocate for students and also she is able to work under pressure. Upward Bound is a college access program that encompass over 150 students in South Los Angeles. There are multiple components required as an advisor and Susy is able to wear multiple hats. Having the fundamentals of working with students, she is a great fit to serve for any leadership role. She now has over 11 years of work experience of college access programs. Upward Bound provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their precollege performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. Upward Bound serves: high school students from low-income families; and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.

Susy was a phenomenal college counselor, career coach, and colleague to work with during our time together at Fulfillment Fund Las Vegas. As soon as I was hired I saw how effectively and efficiently Susy worked with students day in and day out. She had a presence and repertoire not only with students but also with faculty and staff and was well respected by both. Susy's knowledge and expertise were highly sought out by students and staff alike and her passion for serving the community and families was on display daily. Working alongside Susy empowered me to be as sharp, as knowledgeable, and as resourceful as she was and it was both an honor and a pleasure having her as a colleague. Any future team would be lucky to have her.

Susy is wonderful to work with. She has a great skill in linking people to resources in the community. In my time working with her, I saw her plan events, find donors, and create lasting memories for the youth that she serves. She is very passionate and creative in her work.
