As an Officer Cadet I experienced leadership skills set out the world’s premier leadership school. I regularly took part in adventurous and leadership training and was expected to take on leadership roles during these activities. The most challenging was as section commander leading seven sleep deprived individuals in order to complete extremely physically and mentally demanding tasks. It also requires a large amount of self-discipline; standards within the OTC are very high. Students are required to be presentable for inspection at any time, meet official fitness requirements and act in a professional manner at all times with no exceptions.
