Artwise is a London-based collective of curators who support & promote artistic excellence & encourage cross-pollination between creative disciplines. Established in 1996 by Founding Director Susie Allen, Artwise has over the past 17 years achieved a wide range of arts projects spanning the public, private, commercial & museum worlds. These include: initiating & managing large-scale international commissions; curating temporary exhibitions; creating & managing collections; producing high-quality art publications; setting up prizes & award schemes; leading research & feasibility studies. Well known and respected for providing high level strategic advice and innovative thinking, their expertise is regularly sought from art, business and charity sectors. In 2008 Artwise completed 9 major commissions for BA at T5 Heathrow. Two by the artist collective Troika were nominated for ‘Designer of the Year Awards '09' at the Design Museum, London. Artwise have recently curated two 'Contemporary Eye' exhibitions at Pallant House by creating interventions of contemporary works sourced from Collectors, into the museums collections. In 2007 WWF asked Artwise to create a concept to heighten awareness of their organisation. As a result Pandamonium was born. Artwise commissioned 17 artists to work with of the WWF's redundant panda collection boxes to demonstrating what devastation humans are causing to our planet. The results were highly charged and were shown in Selfridges windows during the 2009 Freeze Art Fair. Artists such as Jim Lambie, Mark Titchner, Rachel Whiteread, Gary Hume, Gavin Turk, Tracey Emin and Peter Blake all took part. In 2011/12, WWF asked Artwise to do a follow-up. We commission 26 new Artists to create a 'wearable sculpture' for a one night performance in Hyde Park. Among this year's artists were: Richard Wilson, Hussein Chalayan, Zaha Hadid, Sturat Hagarth and Sian Evans, Susie MacMurray, Conrad Shawcross, Idris Khan and Julie Verhoevan. Show less
