Starting is the hardest part of a journey. We often need a guide, a coach -- or as they say in management schools, a sherpa! I state this with full candour that IFF's community centric model of fundraising is guided by the early insights offered by Sushanta. He without any sense of obligation, favour or reciprocity, made time for calls, offered specific advice and shared materials. These included data based insights, technology flows for individual and retail based fundraising models. This is not only rare, but at his skill level it was something, I felt was astounding. This was one of those significant, early experiences that helped cement my belief in the non-profit sector. Despite all those challenges which come with fundraising, stories about toxic competition, here was a real example that encouraged sharing and growing the field. If I have to recommend Sushanta, it will be not only for his experience, insight and professional acumen but his spirit of generosity. Ultimately this is what it takes to inspire people and lead teams.

Sushant is a dynamic person with great people skills. I’ve worked closely with him and he was instrumental in help setting up and leading the donor management unit at Sense India. He has an analytical mind and the ability to work with all be it Sr Management to juniors in the office.

Manager - Supporter Services
-
Sep 2017 - Dec 2019
The supporter services team was fundamentally responsible for the operational management of donor onboarding and spearheading the retention efforts of the organization. From monitoring donor retention trends to comms responses the team uses Salesforce for tracking, tagging, and monitoring donors and their giving history. The journey of evaluating donor success begins with automated and integrated payment gateways, advanced digital communication tools for better forecasting and stabilizing the road to self-sustainability for my organization. I project manage the new projects and workstreams including the creation of project documentation e.g. Gannt Chart, Operational Risk Log, Modular Budgets, Project Workbooks, and project calendars for tracking.I spent time and effort to understand the individual active donor base to design comms that help reduce donor attrition esp in the first 6 months. Maximize donor's lifetime value across acquisition channels like face to face, outreach, telemarketing, online giving organic, digital giving, petition conversions, etc. I managed the operational budget for the process year on year with a detailed cost breakdown for specific activities. I was responsible for managing the project timeline and day-to-day operations for tracking progress and overall growth. Integrating the fundraising vision and technical platforms like salesforce to help deliver better NPS Donor Satisfaction. I tracked KPIs for accurate income projections and determined key donor insights for course correction for acquisition - (Age, Gender, giving trends, cause, spot welcome, etc). I supported the donor communications team to determine campaigns and projects for donor retention programmes and represented multiple teams at management meetings. Show less
