I worked with Digital Green in progressively responsible roles, first as Communications Manager, then Senior Manager - Communications and finally as the Head of Communications - Asia. I managed the external communications profile for Digital Green, globally, and delivered on the communications needs for the organization's business development efforts as well as research and project communications in the Asia region.I was responsible for creation of content (in the form of blogs, articles, social media creatives, publications, images and films) for capturing and disseminating Digital Green's work via the website, social media and also by liaising with partner and peer organizations and the media for greater visibility.I was a part of the India Leadership Group since 2018, contributing to the discourse on program strategy as well as organizational effectiveness and development. At the same time, I was also the Chairperson of the Internal Complaints Committee for Digital Green in India constituted under the POSH Act and supported the Human Resources team in planning the staff training.

As part of the Communications Team located at the Country Office in New Delhi, I provided support and training to 12 regional offices and liaised with the International Communications team in the UK and other federation members.• Developed policy-driven communication packages for national and international media and policymakers & influencers.• Established contact with relevant media to pitch relevant stories at the national and regional levels.• Provided strategic direction on media planning for key events/programmes across India and identified relevant media pegs, developed media pitches, prepared press invites and releases, advisory statements, background briefings and training for spokespersons.• Travelled extensively to gather beneficiary case studies and human interest stories relevant for media as well as fundraising efforts. Also worked with commissioned writers and photographers for capturing stories of change.Some highlights:• Provided content and media support to the international communication team based in the UK and the spokespersons in India (especially for Assam floods 2012, Public reaction to Nirbhaya case in 2012 and Uttarakhand flash floods in 2013).• Was part of the team that developed the communication strategy of ActionAid in India as it attained an independent national identity and developed its fourth 5-year strategy (2011 - 16)• Provided context-specific input for the brand-building strategy & supported the renewed launch of the fundraising activity in India (2011).
