      The Research and Innovation Support Officer reports to the Head of Research Governance & Optimal Care and is responsible for leading and supporting the implementation of research and ethics governance and evaluation processes at Cancer Council Victoria. Specifically, this role included: • Lead a project to scope metrics to quantify outcomes and impact of extramural research grants investment, including development of recommendations to the Board. • Lead implementation of recommendations from the recent human research ethics review, providing guidance and mentoring to the Program Coordinator. • Support the Head to review policy, procedural and governance aspects of the research activities of Cancer Council, including the review of policies against national standards, including the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research (2018). Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of project planning, implementation, and evaluation, including the following: • Establish an appropriate governance structure to support project development and delivery including the coordination of regular governance meetings and associated communication • Develop detailed project plans with associated milestones and deliverables • Coordinate regular review of the projects against milestones, manage and adjust for any changes in project scope, and identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget • Provide verbal and written reports as appropriate to Executive and the Board. • Establish committees and perform committee secretariat functions as required, including writing Terms of References, meeting papers and minutes and liaising with the committee Chair and members. • Ensure the program-relevant content of the Cancer Council website and other digital assets are current. • Develop, coordinate, and maintain documentation of quality and governance activities and audits. • Keep informed and anticipate issues impacting on research governance.
