Susann is one of the most professional, driven and capable individuals I’ve had the pleasure to work for. Her perfectionism and determination to deliver consistently to an exceptionally high standard secures her as an invaluable asset to any team. As her subordinate for several years, I never stopped learning from Susann; be that from her wealth of marketing experience, her broader commercial knowledge, her fantastic people skills or her impressive ability to be open and honest, whilst always kind and with the best intentions.

St John's Beaumont Catholic Preparatory School for boys is a traditional British boarding and day school, steeped in history, with a reputation for a strict but academically successful education and great sportsmanship. I undertook this role at my son’s preparatory school to apply my skills and experience to a school that was struggling with retention and acquisition. Despite the challenges of the pandemic and budget restrictions, I was able to help the school increase its retention levels and retain the size of enrolment. Noteworthy achievements include rebranding the school’s marketing collateral, digital campaigns that created leads, increased social media engagement, a Senior Schools Programme that improved retention and a toddler event series that increased acquisition. ComXo is the leading UK provider of global switchboard support services to professional service firms. As a board member, I was involved in major corporate strategic decisions, budgeting and planning. I took the business through a strategic re-positioning, leading to the re-branding and relaunch of its website and communications. I implemented marketing automation software (Eloqua), accompanied by a content and event marketing strategy that delivered a consistent stream of leads into the business leading to a 10-fold profit increase. • Project Manager - The Coronation Arch
      • Jun 2013 - Feb 2014

The Coronation Arch was a significant art installation under the auspices of the Royal Windsor Rose & Horticultural Society for its patron, Her Majesty The Queen. The installation was displayed at Windsor Castle during the coronation jubilee in 2013. The project was sponsored by Centrica, Hilliers, Waitrose and other brands. I was responsible for the project management and coordination of the various artistic teams, contractors, overall marketing and PR, securing sponsorship, and finally selling the installation after the exhibition to fund a bursary that sponsored young people in horticultural education. I have liaised with celebrities (securing Alan Titchmarsh and Anna Friel), and managed relations with Windsor Castle, the Crown Estate and the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead. I assembled and managed a team of inspirational artists of various horticultural crafts and local contractors and I managed the design of key artwork, organised a high-profile launch event and secured national PR coverage. Plantify.co.uk was a fast-growing e-commerce startup in the horticultural space. I was responsible for the branding, packaging and initial launch of the e-commerce website. By sponsoring an RHS show garden and winning a gold medal, we raised instant public awareness. With the help of a unique SEO tool, we drove organic inbound and increased registrations threefold in two years, achieving a CTR of 11% on email campaigns. I maintained the relationship with the RHS and World Vision which led to an exhibition and another medal at RHS Chelsea the following year. The activity gained wider public interest with a PR story featured in The Guardian. I developed a unique packaging solution, new for the horticultural industry which helped Plantify.co.uk to distinguish itself from competitors and gain rapid market share. We created a unique SEO instrument - a free garden design tool - gamification of the very popular subject of designing outdoor spaces. This allowed us to increase our visitor numbers naturally, threefold in two years and created valuable inbound links that improved our rankings. Show less
