Scott Statter

I had the privilege of working with Susan during my term as past President of IAPD and for many years as chair of a committee. Susan has led many campaigns that have benefitted the membership as a whole and the companies and individuals that make up the IAPD. Susan has the rare ability to move the organization forward without losing focus of where it came from. She has exhibited a deft touch in balancing a wide range of viewpoints and always channeling them in the betterment of the IAPD. It was a pleasure working with her.

IAPD is an industry trade association that represents the performance plastics market segments. It promotes distribution as the way to market. Our members include plastics stock shapes and PVF distributors, manufacturers, resin manufacturers/distributors, fabricators, manufacturers' representatives, recyclers and associated products and services companies.IAPD owns a for-profit subsidiary, Association Services International, Inc. (ASI) and has a charitable foundation that provides scholarships to students from member companies or anyone majoring in sales, engineering, marketing, business management and other related desires that support the distribution and manufacturing of performance plastics. The IAPD Charitable Foundation governs this incredible scholarship program. It is funded by donations from member companies, as well as fundraising events, such as regional golf outings, sponsorships and other networking events,IAPD offers an incredible membership value proposition for its members. Whether it is advocating for scientific-based legislative and regulatory decision-making through its government relations program; through it's extensive market application-focused educational campaign or connecX trade show; providing internal training programs through the IAPD University offerings, our focus is always on creating value for IAPD members; promoting the facts about, benefits of, and applications for performance plastics; highlighting our members' environmental sustainability efforts; and growing the overall market. I partner with the Board and Executive Committee on setting the strategic direction of the association, managing change, launching new initiatives and providing member value. I champion the strategic priorities set by our Board and other volunteer leadership, drive value for our members, increase engagement in the association and support our strategies by managing our incredible staff team and volunteer leadership.

I began my career at ARMA International as CFO. After working in the financial turnaround of the association, as well as tying the budget to the strategic plan, I was promoted to Deputy Executive Director/CFO. We had launched a for-profit subsidiary for a couple of years, of which I served as Interim CEO. ARMA then rolled the operations of the subsidiary back into the association and I became the Senior Strategic Advisor. As Deputy Executive Director/CFO, I managed the directors’ team of eight and overall indirect reports of 28 to 32 staff. I worked with the CEO on the financial turnaround to the first profit that it had in six years. Within first full fiscal year produced a $250K surplus. I overhauled the financial internal controls, built its finance department, developed the strategic planning and budgeting process and developed a tiered reserve structure to allow for operational , information technology and strategic reserve funds. Supported the transition ARMA's multi-million dollar trade show and conference from outside ownership to internal ownership and build internal sales department. As the Senior Strategic Advisor, I supported the CEO with all strategic development, new business strategies, and future-oriented initiatives. I developed and maintained a vast network of strategic alliances, partners and joint-ventures with vertical markets and professions to integrate the profession with the other critical professions which set the ground work for ARMA’s movement into information governance (its current platform today).I managed its research studies, collaborating with the analyst, technology, consultant, academic and other communities. Coached sales department on raising funds from these outside resources to fund the six-figure research studies.I served as an advisory resource for all other departments on subject matter expertise, speaking engagements, research, product development, external funding and creation of new revenue streams.
