The McNair Scholars Program serves 25 undergraduate, first-generation and low income, and students who are underrepresented in higher education. Our objective is to prepare students for success in doctoral programs by facilitating one-on-one mentoring relationships with UTSA faculty, research experiences, graduate school application completion, and student professionalization. McNair Scholars participate in seminars, graduate school visits, and research conferences and symposia throughout the year to prepare and learn about research and graduate school. During the summer before their senior year, scholars participate in an intensive 10-week research internship. Scholars present their research locally and nationally at McNair Scholar Conferences.
