      • 10 months experience at this Consultancy which focuses on social responsibility and work law.• At the time their biggest client was Buenaventura, the biggest Peruvian Mining Company, who had hired them to ensure all their mines complied with the national law of hiring the local experienced population with the purpose of avoiding discrimination which is very common in the Andes. • Alva Hart Consultants designed the Local Employment System (SEL) and was responsible for implementing it in four different Mines: Uchuchacua, Julcani, Recuperada and Orcopampa. • Visited different mines each month and monitored HRs implementation of the SEL by interviewing and observing them and checking how many people had been hired and where they came from. • Also interviewed the Community Relations team, to get feedback from the local communities, and interviewed various Area Chiefs to find out their feedback on the workers who had been hired. This was compiled into a report which was then sent to both Buenaventura and Alva Hart Consultants.

      • Three months interview project relating to the 2010 Peruvian Ministry of Health pilot HPV (Papilloma Virus) vaccination campaign, initially launched in the Northern region of the country to see what its reception would be and whether it was worth launching a National campaign. • The vaccine must be administered three times and given that HPV is an STI the reception of the vaccine was delicate. The population to be vaccinated were young girls aged 8 – 10 years.• My role was to interview mothers of the vaccinated girls, their teachers, headmistresses or headmasters, nurses or doctors who administered the vaccine, after the second round. The interview was a structured open-ended interview. I later transcribed each interview and analyze the data.
