Regularly develop and participate in the writing of grant proposals for the Maryland Highway Safety Office, I recently developed a grant proposal for the Driving Skills for Life through the Governor’s Highway Safety Association. Our office was one of the seven state highway safety office’s across the country to be successfully awarded a grant. My responsibilities included leading this effort with four highly comprehensive teen driving programs throughout Maryland. Implementation of this project included assembling a team of both internal and external partners, marketing the program to community partners and schools, garnering the support of the media, working with procurement to secure supplies and materials for the events, overseeing each school’s 4-hour program which was modeled to fit each school’s needs and the highway safety issues of their community and ensuring elected officials were invited to the events. All four events, which included impaireddriving related activities received enormous support from the schools and local business. Media also supported the event and over 10,000 teens were reached with this program. GHSA is using this program as a best practice and model for next year’sgrant submissions. Oversee Maryland’s DUI Court Program through a g rant with the Maryland Highway Safety Office. Responsibilities include project oversight, monitoring and reimbursement processing for this contract. This project focuses on the treatment and rehabilitation of impaired drivers. Alcohol monitoring, counseling, ignition interlock and a host of other administrative and court ordered programs are administered through this project. My responsibilities also include highly technical grants management responsibility am part of the Maryland Highway Safety Office’s Grants Management Team. I also co- authored a Policy and Procedure Manual for the staff and the MHSO. After writing the procedure manual,I was also tasked with training the staff on the contents. Show less
