Susan's bubbly personality, keenness to please and strive for a positive outcome in the event or program are some of the attributes that will see her on-going success. With a passion for a healthier Queensland, Susan focus was not only on the events that she was required to perform as part of her position but she also put her mind to the staff body. Utilizing her skills in health promotion, Susan achieved silver status in the State Governments Workplace Wellness initiative for Diabetes Queensland. Susan's ability to achieve support across all business units in the organisation speaks to her ability to engage with, and mobilize different levels of internal stakeholders, for the overall benefit of the organisation. I wish her well in future opportunities

Susan very successfully led a number of holistic health promotion programs, as evidenced by the highly positive evaluation results in which I assisted her with the more complex aspects of analysis. Susan was strategic in her approach to developing these programs and in her use of the evaluation data to demonstrate the effectiveness of her work. She was part of a successful team which was able to win significant tenders to provide other such programs. Susan is a highly collaborative person to work with and always a positive contributor to workplace culture. She goes out of her way to do those little ‘niceities’ for her colleagues that make an office a better place to be.

I was responsible for leading a health promotion team to develop and implement an evidence-informed statewide Alcohol-Harm Prevention Service (APS) designed to empower Queensland communities to respond to local alcohol-related issues. The service works by assisting communities to take responsibility for and take action on risky alcohol use. The service aims to provide best-practice advice, referral and resources to assist these communities as they work toward their goals. As per the Queensland Plan, the service aims to help improve the connections of individuals to their communities as both are encouraged to make healthier choices about alcohol consumption and enjoy improved physical and mental health as a result. I delivered services in accordance with the harm minimization policy and practice, which encompasses a balance between supply reduction (e.g. drug law enforcement), demand reduction (e.g. treatment) and harm reduction (e.g. needle and syringe programs).
