I was Benjamin's mentor during his internship at Unity. I am very impressed with Benjamin, not only professionally, as I saw Ben exceed our already demanding expectations with significant contributions to the team, but also with the jovial enthusiasm he brought to the floor. It was infectious! I look forward to working with Ben again! Ben is comfortable working independently on his tasks in a fast-paced work environment. He was able to take his ML tools from idea to ready to use plug and play solutions for the team. He learnt quickly, and is a tenacious problem solver, who managed to overcome hurdles with little support from the team. He is eager to learn and isn't afraid to challenge ideas, which makes his work all the more rigorous.

I interacted frequently with Ben during his internship at Unity. Besides his fun personality he displayed outstanding adaptability, learned new skills quickly, received & gave feedback really well and communicated effectively. During his time at Unity he was involved in multiple projects where he played a key role or developed a solution on his own. I would work with Ben again in a heartbeat and wish him the best for his future adventures!

Working to create the first AI based hackathon at McMaster university. Why is that exciting? With Artificial Intelligence growing more and more each day, we begin to see how industries adopt AI in all different fields to perform tasks faster and more accurately. The inspiration behind creating this hackathon was to provide students with the opportunity to learn more about this exciting technology from experts in the field as well as exercise their creativity to discover new applications of AI. This concept of AI is out of the scope of most programs therefore this will be a great opportunity for students to do some hands-on learning to ensure they have the skills to succeed in the future with AI! Worked on the Machine Learning Team at Ziva Dynamics - Unity to design and build a visualization and evaluation tool in Unity Engine. This tool simulated a real Head-Mounted Camera shoot of an actor's face that would be used in a real setting only this was within a Unity environment. The tool allows developers to test their ML models by running the model within Unity. By changing factors within the simulation while the model was running (e.g camera lighting, focal length, camera rotation, etc.) developers can see exactly where the model suceeds and fails and what has the greatest impact on performance. This tool bypasses the need for excessive test data that requires tons of video footage, saves time since feedback is instant, and saves money as you do not need to set up a full shoot with actors everytime you want to test something. • Medical Maker: Project Co-Lead
      • Nov 2019 - Dec 2021

The premise behind Medical Makers is to design and 3D print medical devices that can be used right after they are printed (i.e require no further processing). By doing so, we can create medical devices that are cheap, mass producible, and easily transferable by sending the G-code via Internet across the world (i.e the 3D print file to any printer anywhere in the world). The project that I had been working on last year involved a team of about 30 students and we designed and 3D modeled stencils in the shapes of facial muscles. The goal of this project was to create a kit of all the facial muscles in hopes to create an educational device to help students from less fortunate areas learn about facial anatomy at a low cost. • Research Assistant
      • May 2020 - Aug 2020

I had obtained this position when I had sent my professor a 3D model of my idea for a re-usable, 3D printed, N95 Mask to help fight against the dwindling supply of PPE that was being used up for COVID. My professor had sent it to his friends and one of them was intrigued enough to take me on as his assistant. Under his supervision, I began doing research on novel materials and techniques that could be applied to masks in order to make them reusable and more effective. Unfortunately, the project was put on temporary pause due to lack of funding therefore I worked on a different project of his that involved researching the potential of using Artificial Intelligence to diagnose patients who had low bone density or osteoporosis. I was able to gain hands-on experience coding in Python on Google Colab, testing different models and hyper parameters, learning about feature engineering, and much more. Show less
