Key achievements: * Lesson planning & delivery from age 11 to 18 in Electronics, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Textiles and Food, providing for a range of learning styles and needs in order to meet targets/KPI for student progression/examination * Management of hazardous materials & practices, compliance with health and safety procedures. * Planning and executing school trip for approx. 200 students with 15 accompanying staff, delivering everyone safely and on budget * Supporting change within the curriculum/technology by identifying needs and writing many new schemes of work to be shared across the department of 10 staff including a new programmable Electronics project subsequently selected for use as a case study on the national Electronics in Schools website * Introduced new technologies such as computer programming and electronic textiles in order to maintain an up-to-date experience for learners and improve the quality of provision from our department. Identified training needs and provided training and support to department colleagues in using the new software. * Yearly monitoring and mentoring of over 50 students’ coursework projects at GCSE and A Level, reporting on progress and working with parents, senior colleagues and specialist teams. * Invited by senior management to assist with initiation of a strategic education change project in a partner school. This involved Key document review and critical analysis of an underperforming department in order to initiate a change project. Working in a team of 10 engineers we performed site visits on over 300 farms countywide, working individually to calculate disinfection requirements, manage subcontractors and engage stakeholders, completing and filing required compliance documentation and ensuring quarantine and safety protocols were followed; all key to allowing the farm businesses to recover.
