I had the privilege of being under the tutelage of Sumesh recently and I must say I was very impressed with the experience. Sumesh is an excellent photographer and that can be understood from the body of work and the numerous awards that he has received. However the facet of him being an excellent teacher is fairly unknown, the sessions that I had with Sumesh were very rewarding in a sense that he put me through the grind and ensured that I got my basics right. He shared all that was to be imbibed and the best thing that I liked about his teaching was that he did not force his style on you or asked you to confine to the rules. He gave me the freedom to express myself within the boundaries and also encouraged me to cross those boundaries to be a better photographer. He is a very confident teacher and did not hold back on any tips and techniques which he had learnt. He is a teacher who is more focused on the practical aspect and that I feel is the best way to learn photography.
