Mehul Smriti Raje
I worked with Sukriti when I was leading Women TechMakers (WTM) Manipal and IE CSE Manipal between 2014 and 2016 and Sukriti was a freshman recruit in both the clubs. Sukriti was extremely pro-active in her participation in technical events, management of club activities as well as her mentorship of peers. I found an incredible support system in Sukriti when we were planning and executing the first few WTM Manipal events in Fall 2014, attended by 50+ college-going women. Sukriti volunteered with practical proposals to manage minimal budgets and spread the word amongst her female peers, which was crucial in launching phase of a very novel women-centric organisation at Manipal. Time and again, it also demonstrated her belief in our mission, which is to encourage participation and visibility of women in computing. Her efforts led her to become the Community Lead for WTM in 2016 - a proud moment for my team to have found such an effective, calm and able successor. She has since, gone on to emerge victor in several such ventures, having also won the ACMW Best Officer Award and garnered participation of 200+ in WTM events. Sukriti and I share a wonderful camaraderie and research interest in Machine Learning. I admire the work she has done at IISc, especially the transliteration of Kannada text from images and detection and classification of abnormalities in Wireless Capsule Endoscopy. I also appreciate her regular sharing of ML resources and opportunities with her peers and juniors. Wishing Sukriti the best for her future endeavours!

Worked on Deep Learning Applications of Wireless Capsule Endoscopy. Worked as a single-team member, during which I carried out the following under the guidance of Prof. Chandra : 1. Worked on classification, semantic segmentation, instance segmentation, clustering, and artificial image synthesis problem statements. 2. Established an official collaboration of IISc with the Command Hospital Airforce, Bangalore. 3. Conceptualized a novel automated diagnostic solution for gastroenterologists. Based on this, I drafted 4 research funding proposals for schemes like GCEI, BIRAC-BIG, BIRAC-PACE, and DHR. Also worked on compiling the results, presentations (and demo videos) for presentations at Delhi- for the final rounds of DHR and GCEI. 4. Mentored two summer interns for classification and segmentation problems under WCE. 5. Conducted bi-weekly field trips to the hospital, to communicate our progress and formulate our diagnostic solution. Show less
