Preparing specimens for incubation in the department of Microbiology and send outs to other laboratories. • Maintain Inventory of Chemistry Department in the laboratory. • Perform QC and Calibration of the instrument ensuring that the instrument is maintained and ready to release the results. • Proficient with Dimension EXL, Beckman and Coulter LH750 and LH 500, ADVANTEC Analyzer for Urine. • Proficient in MEDITECH software system, and EPIC. Point of Care Coordinator • Set up Nova Stat Strip Glucometer, perform Linearity Biannually, and for new Glucometer. • Maintain stocks of all supplies pertaining to POC. • Orient RNs and EMT and train them for using Glucometer, CLOtest and Nitrazine. • Verify their competency Annually and upon new hire. • Trouble shoot instruments and maintain the workflow to ensure proper patient care. • Successful JACHO inspection for the year 2018. • Nova, CLO test and Nitrazine QC’s are maintained, and reviewed. • Corrective Actions maintained and retrain upon the need and maintain 90% and above Compliance. • Review and update POC Policy and Procedure.
